A split move is always a crowd pleaser and for good reason! It takes flexibility and strength to get a good split, both of which take time and effort to achieve. Luckily, a lot of split moves on the hoop can be an illusion. If you know the right position to hold the camera and which way to angle your body, you can make a split move look amazing, even if you’re not quite there yet!

A catchers is one of the first inverted moves you learn on the aerial silks. It can be hard to get your head around how to wrap your leg, but once you have nailed that it’s a great move to do! Tips to Nail that Trick!

Everyone has that one trick they just can’t do. There’s no reason you can’t do it, you’re strong and flexible enough. You can do lots of harder moves but for some reason this one move is just not happening. It’s so frustrating! Luckily you’re not alone, almost everyone has a nemesis move. (Mine are: pole – janeiro, hoop – barrel rolls, silks – splits balance.) I got so annoyed at not being able to do them that I just avoided them but now I’m determined to revisit the moves I should be able to do and nail them!

34 Pretty Pole Photoshoot Moves

Pole photoshoots are so popular at the moment. They’re a great way of getting some amazing pictures of your favourite pole moves. It can also be so hard deciding on which moves to go for. The incredibly difficult moves are definitely an achievement, though they often don’t look that lovely. I used to always get pictures of the hardest moves I could do, now I definitely prefer the simple poses. They’re just so pretty!

Whether you do aerial silks, aerial hoop or pole dance, having good back flexibility has so many benefits! When you get more advanced there are certain moves that you have to be flexible to even be able to attempt (Rainbow Marchenko I’m talking about you!). Or if you have your sights set a little lower, having a more flexible back makes even a simple aerial hoop Delilah look amazing!

The splits, I’d never really thought about them until I started doing pole and aerial arts, now sometimes I feel like I can’t think about anything else! Having a flat split seems to be everyone’s goal at the moment, and once you have a flat split it’s all about trying to achieve the oversplit!
