Climbing to the top of the aerial silks was one of my first silks goals. It’s such a proud moment when you manage to climb to the top for the first time! I first learnt a French climb so this is the one I generally use the most. It’s fun to mix it up a bit sometimes, especially when you’re doing combinations and routines.

The climbs

I have included 9 different climbs to try. Some of them are upright climbs and some you need to invert to do. If you need to build up some strength, try some of my Aerial Silks Conditioning Exercises. The climbs are:

  • French climb
  • Russian climb
  • Russian flirt
  • Russian twist
  • Bicycle climb
  • Hocks climb
  • Opposite side straddle climb
  • Same side straddle climb
  • Monkey climb
